After a long racing season, it’s time to celebrate! The Canadian Automobile Sport Clubs Ontario Region are crowning their champions this weekend. The Awards Gala is always a great event as it is one of the last chances to see your fellow competitors and talk racing. It is also amazing to see everyone dressed up but sometimes it is hard to recognize them without their race suits or crew shirts.

Trophies are awarded in each of three of the different divisions including Autoslalom, Time Attack and Road Racing (Ice Racing and Rally have separate banquets). If you are a fan or interested in going racing, this is a great opportunity to meet the drivers and teams in a fun environment. You will also have a chance to hear from the administrators about how the organization is performing.

Earlier on the same day will be a number of workshops which will focus on planning for next year. There will be workshops for those interested in Autoslalom, Ice Racing, Road Racing or Time Attack. The workshops begin at 9am and continue until 4pm. In addition to planning for next season, they will cover proposed rule changes and potential schedules. The workshops are an excellent way to hear directly from the administrators and organizers and to learn about how everything works. The workshops also provide an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback about racing in Ontario.

The Awards Gala and workshops will take place at the Sheraton Parkway Hotel in Richmond Hill which is located at the corner of Leslie Street and Highway 7 East. The workshops begin at 9am and the Awards Gala begins at 6pm. More information is available at
